Last Night of the Croydon Proms
Popular Classics

A gala evening of popular classics featuring Tchaikovsky's exciting 1812 Overture, excerpts from The Messiah, Zadok the Priest, the Great Gate of Kiev, Nimrod, Greensleeves Fantasia and Rachmaninov's Paganini Variations. The programme also includes film classics Star Wars, Harry Potter and Jurassic Park as well as popular opera arias. The concert ends with prom favourites Rule Brittania, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.

This concert is raising funds for St Christopher's Hospice Charity

A festive Christmas concert featuring the wonderful musical story of Cinderella as well as the overture to Hansel and Gretel, a sleigh ride for Santa Claus, Smetana's exciting Dance of the Comedians and the ever popular Fledermaus Waltz. We are also performing some special carols which have been composed by local children.

An exciting concert of popular Latin-American music which culminates in a dramatic arrangement of Ravel's Bolero featuring top Tango Dancers. The brilliant Russian cellist Liubov Ulybysheva performs the Grand Tango and the Sambadrome Drummers play Samba Braziliana in this concert which is sponsored by Pi Consulting and raising funds for the charity International Needs.

The Adventures of Sinbad

A concert of colourful characters such as William Tell, El Cid and the Flying Dutchman and villains Billy the Kid, the Gnome and Kikimora the Spider. Our dramatic story is based on the Adventures of Sinbad accompanied by the wonderful music of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. Top trombonist David Whitson presents his world of brass.
