Last Night of the Proms

Pomp and Circumstance-London and Vienna

A colourful evening of Pomp and Circumstance, with music celebrating the great cities of Vienna and London. Besides
prom favourites Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory, the concert features such choral favourites as Zadok the Priest,
 I Was Glad
and the Fantasia on British Sea Songs.

Vienna is represented by classical favourites such as excerpts from Fledermaus and a delightful selection of
Johann Strauss’Waltzes and Polkas, as well as popular arias for soprano.

 

This concert is raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support

A special musical version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is the highlight of this Christmas programme which features
seasonal favourites such as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Anderson’s Sleigh Ride with Santa Claus and Carols for the audience.

The concert starts with Arnold’s amazing Grand, Grand Overture which features three hoovers and a floor polisher as well
as the finale from Saint- Saens’ magnificent Organ Symphony.
