Last Night of the Proms

Popular Classics from Stage and Screen

A colourful evening of Pomp and Circumstance, with classics from stage and screen.

Besides prom favourites Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory, the concert features such choral favourites as Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves and Grand March from Aida.

Stage and Screen is represented by favourites such as Rhapsody in Blue, Star Trek, Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man, Bolero, Dambusters, 'From Broadway to Hollywood' and a salute to Richard Rogers.

 

This concert is raising funds for St Christoher's Hospice Charity

A festive Christmas concert featuring the wonderful story of The Sleeping Beauty as well as Toy Symphony, a sleigh ride for Santa, a Children's Overture, a Feather Dance and the lively Can-Can. We are also performing some special carols which have been composed by local children as well as traditional carols for the audience.

Come with us while we travel around the world in 80 minutes to exotic locations. We will visit a Bohemian Carnival, a Javanese Temple, a Brazilian Sambadrome, a New York Jazz Club and a Russian Toy Factory!

Tubby the Tuba takes us on a voyage around the orchestra with the help of a bullfrog, while the concert ends with a bang from the explosive 1812 Overture, featuring a Napoleonic style cannon.
